This blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scene features Charles Shaughnessey (Robert Mitchum) crossing through the graveyard at Cill Chuáin, near Feothanach. This burial ground is one of archaeological importance, and includes the remains of vernacular grave- and tomb-types, and the ruins of a medieval church. A full survey of the site was completed by Robert Hanbidge and Ann Frykler on behalf of Headland Archaeology Ltd. in 2011, and can be viewed here. It is still in use as a cemetery, and is tended to by both Kerry County Council, and members of the local community.
